Roger Federer wears Rolex and has for decades. The most recent watch confirmed on his wrist is the Rolex Land-Dweller 40, reference M127334-0001, which he wore at his International Tennis Hall of Fame induction on 29 August 2026.

Quick answer Federer is one of Rolex’s best-known ambassadors, and Rolex’s own Federer page still presents him that way today. He has been photographed in Datejust, Daytona, Air-King and other Rolex models over the years. His newest confirmed piece is the Land-Dweller, a steel-and-white-gold watch with a honeycomb dial, which Gear Patrol spotted at the Hall of Fame ceremony.

Is Roger Federer still a Rolex ambassador?

Yes, as far as anything public shows. Rolex’s Federer profile describes him as a global ambassador and a “testimonee”, which is the company’s word for the athletes and artists it backs, and the page dates the relationship to 2001. Rolex has not announced any change since he retired from professional tennis in September 2022.

Gear Patrol called him a longtime Rolex ambassador in its September 2026 coverage of the Hall of Fame watch, and he has kept appearing in Rolex models at tennis events since retiring. Sponsorship terms are private, so treat the “ambassador” label as Rolex’s own wording rather than a contract we have seen.

The watch he wore at the 2026 Hall of Fame: Rolex Land-Dweller 40

For his induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame on 29 August 2026, Federer wore the Rolex Land-Dweller in the Oystersteel and white gold version, reference M127334-0001. Gear Patrol published the sighting on 2 September 2026.

The Land-Dweller is Rolex’s newest model family, built around a flat integrated bracelet and the new calibre 7135 movement. This version has an intense white dial with a honeycomb pattern and a date window. Federer was also reportedly seen in the watch before Rolex announced it, which makes him one of its most visible early wearers.

Federer’s Rolex timeline

Federer has rarely stuck to one watch. Photo archives and watch-press coverage show a spread of Rolex models across his career, and a few sightings are well documented.

Datejust at Wimbledon

The Datejust is the Rolex most closely tied to Wimbledon, and The Hour Markers reports him in a Datejust 41 with a fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet when he won the title in 2017. The outlet notes that fans call that dial style the “Wimbledon” dial. The same outlet lists a classic Datejust at his 2012 Wimbledon win.

Daytona

Rolex’s own Federer page uses a photo of him after a Wimbledon win wearing a Cosmograph Daytona. More recently, Gear Patrol reported that he wore an off-catalog Cosmograph Daytona “Blue Sapphire”, reference 126599TSA, to the 2025 Laver Cup opening gala. That one is 40 mm in white gold with a silver obsidian dial, blue baguette sapphires on the bezel and diamonds on the case.

The Hour Markers also reports a yellow gold Daytona on an Oysterflex strap, set with orange sapphires, at the 2022 Wimbledon Centre Court centenary ceremony. We have only that one source for it, so treat it as reported.

Air-King at his final match

On day one of the 2022 Laver Cup in London, the event where he played his last professional match, Federer sat on the bench in a Rolex Air-King. Gear Patrol identified it as the 2022 version, which is reference 126900. The reference number comes from the outlet’s links rather than from a statement by Federer or Rolex, so we describe it as a visual identification.

Why Rolex and Federer fit together

Rolex built much of its sporting identity around tennis, and Wimbledon is where the pairing is easiest to see. Federer won eight men’s singles titles there, and Rolex is the tournament’s official timekeeper. His clean, understated style also suits the brand’s classic models better than a flashy sports-watch image.

That fit shows in what he wears. Most of the watches above are everyday Rolexes rather than rare gold pieces, with the occasional exception such as the Blue Sapphire Daytona. If you want a Federer-style watch that is not a showpiece, the Datejust and Air-King are the closest matches.

Federer’s rival and friend Rafael Nadal went a very different direction, wearing ultra-light tourbillons from another brand. See what watch Rafael Nadal wears for the contrast.

Which Federer-linked Rolex makes sense to buy?

If you want the one he wore most recently, that is the Land-Dweller 40, but it is new and expensive, and availability at authorised dealers may vary. It also has an integrated bracelet that looks quite different from the Oyster and Jubilee designs he wore for most of his career.

The Air-King is the practical pick. It costs roughly half as much as the Land-Dweller, runs on an in-house movement with about 70 hours of power reserve, and has the clean 40 mm steel look he was seen in on the Laver Cup bench. The Datejust 41 is the better fit if you want the Wimbledon link, since it is the model reported on his wrist for the 2017 title. Pre-owned examples of both are widely available, so check condition and papers before paying.

Affordable alternatives to Federer’s Rolex

If a new Rolex is out of reach, the Air-King at about $8,150 is the least expensive current watch in the Federer group. For something simpler and cheaper, any slim steel three-hander with a white or silver dial and a date window gives the same dressy-sporty look. Brands such as Tudor, Hamilton and Seiko all make that style at a fraction of the price.

We have not worn or tested any of these, so check reviews from the watch press for the exact model you are considering.
